Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI), is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Systems Analyst to support the Advanced Programs Branch Sensors Directorate (AFRL/RY) at WPAFB, Ohio.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, customize, enhance, and connect modeling and simulation applications to meet emerging needs.
  • Assess and characterize the performance of existing, planned, or hypothetical remote sensing systems.
  • Design optimal sensor configuration and collection strategies and perform gap analysis.
  • Relate sensor characteristics to the performance of automated and manual detection, tracking, classification, and characterization algorithms
  • Develop tools and approaches to perform analysis and interpret the results of trade studies
  • Develop, enhance, evaluate, and integrate scientific and statistical algorithms in high-level scientific computing languages
  • Provide specific technical expertise performing mid-level analytical assignments across several tasks of moderate complexity
  • Apply and interpret standard engineering or scientific theories, concepts, and techniques
  • Develop solutions to problems where established theories and techniques can be identified, and some precedent exists for procedures to be used
  • Determine your own approach to problem solving and devise solutions in coordination with senior staff members
  • Document research through technical reports and papers
  • Share your findings with peers, internal leadership, and customers by developing and delivering briefings on your findings and accomplishment
  • Collaborate in an R&D team environment
  • Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 6+years experience required
  • Software development experience with at least one or more of the following: C, C++ (preferably 11 or higher), Python
  • Experience with AFSIM, NGTS, TMAP, ITASE, SAFE-SiM, or other M&S frameworks
  • Proficiency with Git, CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) systems, and supporting tooling
  • Experience with C2 (Command & Control), Networking, and Communications systems
  • Experience with threat system analysis and representation
  • Experience developing or integrating mathematical, logical, and physics-based models in simulation frameworks
  • Active security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree accepted, but not required
