Description: We are looking for a modeling engineer to further our battery modeling capabilities. This person should have a strong mathematical and algorithmic background as well as fluency in programming, preferably using Matlab. Ideal candidate will also have some familiarity with battery modeling (equivalent circuit, physics-based, aging, etc.) but this type of experience is optional.

Core Requirements: ⁃ Experience in Programming - ideally an experienced Matlab user, but Python or C++ programming and basic familiarity with Matlab are also acceptable, ability to document code well, provide comments, follow clear structure and naming conventions ⁃ Mathematical Modeling - familiarity with mathematical concepts like optimization methods, numerical simulations, computationally solving differential equations, ability to solve optimization problem using Matlab or Python Good to have: ⁃ Understanding Lithium-ion Batteries - familiarity with basic concepts related to lithiumion batteries, such as C-rate, capacity, DCIR ⁃ Data analysis and automation - familiarity with data structures, demonstrated experience processing large volumes of test data, reading different file types and automation of analysis process, familiarity with concepts like optimization with genetics algorithms and neural networks ⁃ FEA modeling - experience using commercial modeling packages like COMSOL for multi-physics modeling or ANSYS, exposure to electrochemical and thermal modeling.

Communication skills: ⁃ Presentation skills - ability to present data meaningfully, answering questions like: “What is the main conclusion?”; “Why is this relevant?”; “What are the next steps based on the results I am presenting?”, rather that pasting generated figures. ⁃ Integrity - commitment to present true and accurate data, even if they are not leading to expected or clear conclusions
