Job description

The candidate must have their high school diploma or GED and have experience working with children from 18 months to 3 years of age and show an interest in learning about Montessori philosophy.

The Toddler Assistant:

• Assists the Lead Teacher in implementing daily classroom activities and events guided by the Montessori Toddler philosophy:

• Interacts in a respectful and caring manner with the children by actively participating in their play and learning.
• Changes diapers and assists with toileting and hand washing.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for the children through general housekeeping.
• Prepares food for snacks and lunches.
• Supervises children in the classroom, playground, and during nap time.
• Ensures that all state and local requirements are met for the supervision of the children. Communicates well and frequently with the Lead Teacher:

• Assists the Lead Teacher in identifying each child’s developmental strengths and challenges, allows the Lead Teacher to be the primary contact for parent communication. Assists the Lead Teacher in the updating and maintaining the information in the school’s Montessori Compass for timely communication with parents.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher or the Head of School.
• Attend schedule PTO meetings, staff meetings, and other meetings identified.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29,000.00 - $32,000.00 per year
