Job description
Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to develop and implement or assist with development and implementation of communications and advertising content for a variety of media platforms which will reach members, consumers, and the broader agricultural community. This person will research, write, proofread and edit content, and plan and execute or assist with planning and executing public communications.
Major Responsibilities:
- Support Association communications
- Develop and maintain marketing materials, media lists, and press kits
- Create social media content
- Assist with event planning
- Develop and distribute reports
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a similar field
Competencies:
- Outstanding communication skills (listening, written, oral)
- Demonstrated experience in copywriting and editing
- Well versed in creating content for and managing social media channels
- Very strong attention to detail and consistency
- Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Strong ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Experience with Dreamweaver, InCopy, and Premiere Pro is a plus
- Experience with branding and logo design is a plus
- Experience creating, editing, and managing a website is a plus
- Experience with dairy and/or the agricultural industry, is a plus
- Familiarity with the Adobe Suite in programs such as InDesign and Illustrator
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
- Willingness to learn
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude
