Seeks My Best Self Program Specialist

The My Best Self program is for youth involved in certain areas of the child welfare system, as well as those experiencing homelessness, and are in needs self-care support. The program provides professional hair services, culturally specific self-care supplies, social exposures, and self-care workshops to youth in Congregate Care facilities and Transition Aged Youth up to age 24. The My Best Self Program Specialist provides support to the Program Manager and overall functions of the MBS Program.

Key Objectives of this Role:

• Communicate effectively in speech and in writing
• Assist in making self-care bags and distributing as needed
• Create monthly supply list
• Obtain monthly census from all partner Congregate Care facilities
• Utilize excel to manage program files
• Facilitate youth workshops
• Assist with creating and facilitating social exposures
• Participate in scheduling youth hair service and tracking attendance at those services

Skills and Qualifications:

• Commitment to and passionate about serving homeless populations and youth with system involvement
• High School Diploma (or GED) and 2 years working with youth preferred (All combinations of education and experience will be reviewed. Special consideration will be given to those with lived experience)
  • Prefer PA Cosmetology Diploma and Cosmetology License
• Must have basic computer skills, Microsoft office, excel spreadsheet, and PowerPoint.
• ACT 33/34 and FBI Clearances
• Valid Driver’s License
• Meets the required Skills and Abilities described herein
