Members of the Nye County Support Staff Organization (NCSSO) bargaining unit may apply to transfer to the position listed below. VACANCY – Rosemary Clarke Middle School
(1) – 6.5 Hour Special Education Paraprofessional to assist the classroom teacher and students with special education services in a specialized instructional program. The paraprofessional will assist these students across a variety of settings; including, but not limited to; School campus, General Education, Resource, and Self-Contained classrooms.
Position (Control #1864) funded out of Special Education Fund and will remain until no longer needed as determined by SESS, or Nye County School District.
Requirements: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; Paraprofessional ?requirements as per ESSA; correct English usage and grammar; knowledge of educational, behavioral and emotional principles and techniques; ability to relate to adults and children of all ages, particularly those with a handicapping condition; current CPR certification and First Aid training; ability to lift 50 pounds; ability to assist with toileting needs
Successful candidate may be required to attend training provided by the district in the following areas: Modifications and accommodations for students with Autism and Emotional Handicap; Dealing with a variety of behaviors (emotional regulations); Visual scheduling, communications systems, etc.; Working with accommodations within integrated settings; Non-violent Crisis Intervention.
