VC3, an innovative IT services solution provider, is seeking a Network Engineer to provide escalation support to our Project Services Teams. The Network Engineer has primary responsibility for remote and onsite service work, LAN/WAN project design and implementation along with long-term client support which includes interaction with end-users in diverse computing environments. The Network Engineer will also be expected to assist the team with systems issues as needed.

This position will allow you to work alongside some of the most talented engineers around and afford you the opportunity to grow with a stable managed services provider that has a 25-year history of providing a full range of IT solutions, which is continuing to expand throughout the country.

Here’s what we need from you:

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5+ years of troubleshooting and maintaining network infrastructures
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing network infrastructures
• Strong knowledge of current IT concepts, issues, practices, methodologies, and trends
• Good problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to quickly understand and analyze complex issues
• Must be passionate about technology and delivering the highest level of customer service
• Self-motivated, detail orientated, highly organized and able to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in an efficient manner with a high level of quality
• Ability to deal effectively with customers, vendors, and peers
• Desire to make a difference!

These are the technical skills that you will need to have:

• Experience architecting and implementing multi-vendor networks including Cisco, HP, Juniper, SonicWall, Ubiquiti, and others
• Knowledge and experience designing and deploying functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
• Experience with DNS/DHCP support
• Experience with Virtualization tools (VMware, Citrix XenApp – a plus)
• Experience with Windows 2008/2012/2016
• Experience with server-class hardware including software, hardware, SAN
• Solid understanding of and ability to configure TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet connectivity.
• Detailed knowledge of routing protocols, spanning-tree, and QOS technologies
• Firewall and VPN design, troubleshooting, and administration
• Wireless design and troubleshooting
• Ability to learn and troubleshoot new network devices and technology in dynamic and highly critical customer environments
• Ability to mentor other engineers and provide escalation support

The following aren’t required, but are highly desirable:

• Experience with other network technologies and vendors
• Experience with remote monitoring and management solutions and technologies
• Solid understanding of Cisco IOS
• Experience and understanding of Terminal Services
• Experience with vLAN configurations
• Understanding of DNS services
• Experience with iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile, and iPad troubleshooting
• IP Telephony experience (CallManager or hosted VOIP)
• Prior experience with Windows Server administration and support
• Cisco, Juniper, or other network certification
• Network security

• Travel Requirements: travel to customers sites possible
• Work Schedule: M-F, 8-5
