We provide enterprise-class services and are striving to fill a Network Engineer position on a new 5 year contract (1 year completed) for the Veterans Administration.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM CST Time)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, build, implement, and maintain network infrastructure as well as connectivity among data centers
- Perform Network Operating System upgrades on all network devices
- Design, deploy, configure, administer and maintain network High Availability (HA) designs
- Recommend strategic direction and execution path for our networks and tools
- Identify and document design/architecture best practices
- Lead technical design/architecture reviews
- Design Network Implementation Plans
- Implement networks per the Network Implementation Plans
- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain multicast networks
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with networks HA solutions: First Hop Redundancy Protocols (FHRP), Virtual Port Channels (VPCs), Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP), Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation, Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP) routing protocols, and Overlay Transport Virtualization (OTV)
- Experienced in Designing Network Implementation Plans for Layer 2/3 that include Spanning Tree, virtual local area networks (VLANs), Virtual Port Channels (VPCs), Port Channels, Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation, redundant connectivity to ISPs, complex routing/switching infrastructure, extranet connectivity, data center design, and Wide Area Network (WAN) integration
- Experience in enterprise WiFi 802.11
- Experience in operation and maintenance of Cisco Identity Services Engine is required
- knowledge and experience in the daily operation and maintenance of Cisco Wireless networking controllers, access points, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, and MSE/CMX appliances
- Experience designing, building, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure
- Experienced with Multicast protocols to include Protocol-Independent Multicast (PIM) dense and sparse mode, Cisco Group Management Protocol (CGMP), Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP), Multicast Listener Discovery (MLD), Bootstrap Router (BSR) protocol
- Experienced with network data link technologies such as wired Ethernet, enterprise Wi-Fi and serial interfaces/leased TELCOM connections using Frame Relay, VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP), Metro-E and High-Level Data Link Control (HDLC)
- Ability and demonstrated experience to maintain customer performance levels, treat team members on all levels with respect and adhere to established schedules.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline; 5 years of experience
- 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education (13 years total)
Clearance:
- The ability to pass a Tier 2/Modest Background Investigation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Indoors in normal office environment. May require extensive periods of sitting or standing. Frequent computer use at workstation for several hours at a time. Frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.

Pay: $81,781.99 - $100,500.00 per year
