Sabre Systems is currently hiring a Network Engineer to support one of our important Department of the Navy customers. This Network Engineering position will be interacting with infrastructure and application teams to develop technical implementation and continuing maintenance solutions focusing on the delivery, performance and security posture of enterprise applications. The selected candidate will manage, design, install and maintain Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud based infrastructure for the customer. Efforts will include initial standup and design, cyber security mandated solution implementation and continuing maintenance. Experience required with planning, design and implementation of networked systems, to include configuration management, upgrades and troubleshooting of network issues. Experience with traffic management, application management and load balancing utilizing networking solutions strongly desired.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
- Five (5) years of network design experience with load balancing and high availability systems
- Strong understanding of network solutions to include load balancing, router protocols and application delivery
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS)/Cloud based networking and hosting
- Skills and experience in the areas of software-defined networking (SDN), automation and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Minimum of five (5) years of related experience
- Experience installing, configuring and testing various network devices
- Strong understanding of networks and network operations
- Ability to perform physical activity, such as climbing ladders, carrying equipment, etc
- Must be able to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team
- Experience working in a Federal/DoD environment
- Must have IAT Level II certification
- Security+ certification is required
- OS Certification: (Microsoft, UNIX, or VMWare), -or- proof of successful completion of an OS class
- Candidate must pass a background investigation
- This position allows for remote work.
