New Kent Winery & Talleysville Brewing Co. are a one of a kind Virginia winery and brewery located just a mile and a half off Interstate 64 between Richmond and Williamsburg in the gorgeous Viniterra area of New Kent County, Virginia.

Job Description:
New Kent Winery & Talleysville Brewing Co. are seeking Part-time Winery and Brewery tasting room staff. We are looking for energetic individuals who share our passion for great wine and beers and have a commitment to excellent customer service to help sell, serve and educate our customers about our world class wines. We host a wide variety of different events from trivia to concerts & much more. Our team enjoys dressing up for any occasion and tasting all our new seasonal beers! We are looking for wine & beer stewards and bussers. Wine & beer staff receive $9 an hour with tip sharing averaging about $25/$30 an hour. Bussers receive $9 an hour with tip sharing as well.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests and pour wines & beer according to established wine and beer tasting procedures

• Describe wines and beers, production techniques and winery history

• Suggest and sell wines and beers, wine/beer flight experiences, wine clubs and non-wine products

• Conduct guided tours, as needed, answer questions and provide general tourist information

• Handle routine POS transactions, including operating cash register, processing returns, discounts, employee purchases, etc.

• Stay current on winery/brewery knowledge and be able to multitask

• Assist customers to their vehicles with large purchases

• Assist as needed with event setup and breakdown

• Stock wine and non-wine products, as needed

• Wash and polish glassware for tasting room

• Clear tables, clean dishes

• Perform other duties as assigned

• Must be 21+ years old

Skills/Qualifications:

• Hospitality or customer service experience preferred

• Brewery, micro brewery or tap-house experience preferred

• Restaurant experience a plus

• Must be able to stand continuously throughout an 8 hour shift

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

• Comfortable bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, and moving quickly

• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

• Willingness to be a team player

• Ability to read, write, and speak in English

• Must have reliable transportation
