Job description

Responsible for assisting guests with their overnight requests and balance accounts from the day shift. The Night Auditor checks in guests arriving at night, handles guest requests and takes reservations. The Night Auditor also takes payments, reconciles accounts, prepares bills, and balances the front desk's cash drawer. This position will coordinate with other team members to handle necessary end-of-day tasks.

  • Controls all situations in a calm, professional, and hospitable manner.
  • Completes daily logs.
  • Follows lost and found procedures.
  • Conducts daily key inventories and reports any variances.
  • Responds to alarm notifications.
  • Assists with emergency/evacuation training and processes.
  • Post charges and payments to guest accounts.
  • Reconcile all front desk agents’ paperwork.
  • Handle PBX duties.
  • Print posting journals.
  • Print and resolve rate discrepancy.
  • Post credit card totals to A/R.
  • Reconcile and balance all food and beverage cashiers’ paperwork.
  • Run night audit cut off.
  • Balance cash for all outlets.
  • Run and separate morning reports.
  • Acknowledge all guests within 20 feet and engage each guest with a courteous, professional greeting within 10 feet.
  • Use service language in all guest conversations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times; comply with hotel dress and grooming policies.
  • Identify and resolve all service-related problems immediately to guests satisfaction.
  • Comply with hotel cash handling and bank procedures.
  • Answer questions about hotel policies, services, and prices and assist guests as needed
  • Assist guests with questions via telephone in a professional manner.
  • Contact housekeeping or engineering staff when guests report department related problems.
  • Record and report, comments and complaints to management.
  • Exhibits a ‘can do’ attitude and total cooperation.
  • Assists in any area needed when time allows.
  • Wears and maintains proper attire.
  • Maintains a cheerful, positive attitude and appropriate conduct with both guests and teammates
  • Communicates with guests, co-workers and supervisors in an effective and friendly manner.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all co-workers to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment.
  • All other duties requested by management team.

Employee must be able to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds. Job frequently requires use of arms, hands, and fingers. Requires walking, sitting, crouching, kneeling, and standing.
