JOB PURPOSE:
Facilitating and providing quality patient care by and under the supervision of the RN/LPN.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides direct patient care.
2. Collaborates with the health care team in the development of the patient’s plan of care.
3. Appropriately evaluates developmental age of the patient when performing assessments, treatments, and providing education for clients of various age groups.
4. Observes for complications and/or deviations from patients baseline assessment.
The individual demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriately to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
The individual demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status. The individual interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age specific needs.

Requirements



MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Currently enrolled in a Nursing program and have completed the first Med/Surg rotation.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
None


MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Current BCLS. Ability to independently perform multiple tasks as directed by the RN/LPN.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in-writing.
Skill and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work as a member of a team.
Skill and ability in Microsoft Office applications.
