Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center brings acute inpatient medical services to communities in Cumberland, Perry, and York counties. The facility features 108 private inpatient beds and an attached outpatient medical office building.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Nurse Manager for this new 12-bed intensive care unit will play an integral part in decision-making related to staffing, policies, and shaping the culture of the department. This individual will partner with the Nursing Director to assure department operations are carried out effectively.

The Manager will evaluate nursing service needs relative to the needs of the patients, promote the professional growth of all nursing service employees by providing opportunities for staff development programs, as well as enforcing hospital standards and policies.

The Nurse Manager will also be responsible for staff selection, performance evaluations, supervision, scheduling, and training. They will make recommendations relative to equipment and supplies, and perform quality assurance audits. The Manager will appraise current nursing practices and make recommendations relative to current best practices and procedures. Responsible for evaluating, providing, and improving nursing services for patients through efficient and effective planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling of material and human resources.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.

Four (4) years of clinical experience is required.

Six (6) months experience in providing nursing care to patients on maintenance dialysis.

Progressive leadership experience is required.

Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

Master's Degree in Nursing or other related field preferred.

Nursing leadership experience in critical care services preferred
