Full Job Description
We are currently looking for providers interested to join our growing practice. We are looking for independent and talented providers who provide exceptional patient care. We are looking for providers who want to grow as we grow. We are needing nurse practitioners who provide comprehensive, direct and indirect patient care in the appropriate setting across the continuum of care. Communicates with physicians about changes in patient’s clinical condition, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Conducts family and patient education, promotes wellness and prevention of health problems. Develops resources and communicates knowledge to members of healthcare team, patients and their family members. Provides patient care with utmost customer service, compassion, and integrity to patients in a home setting. Position does require 90% travel throughout Houston and surrounding areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing excellent patient care
- Performing examinations and routine procedures
- Taking patient’s medical histories
- Ordering and interpreting tests
- Counseling patients on preventive care
- Conducting physical examinations
- Diagnose and treat illnesses
- Writing prescriptions
- Maintain an accurate inventory of supplies and/or sample medications
- Properly supervise Mas/LVNs and other support staff working under their delegation
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Must be a registered nurse and have a minimum of a Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) as a family nurse practitioner
- CPR certification required
- DEA License required
- Family Medicine experience preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills required
- Electronic health records experience preferred (Kareo EMR)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lifting: Average weight is 5-25 pounds for a distance up to 4 feet, occasionally.
- Bending: Occasionally.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, with shift lengths up to 10 hours.
- Normal vision (or corrected vision) and hearing.
- Ability to tolerate viewing on computer monitor for extended periods of time.
POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position
Requires 90% travel throughout Corpus Christi and surrounding areas
