Our fast-paced 31-bed Emergency Department has skilled physicians who work closely with specially trained nurses and other healthcare professionals to see the approximate 80,000 patients each year. Our success directly correlates with high employee satisfaction scores, which can be attributed to our collaborative practice with physicians, management and our involvement of staff in peer interviews.
Position Summary:
Plans the overall nursing care and functions in the Emergency department during an assigned shift. Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level. Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them. Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:

Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level.

Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.

Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.

Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.

Qualifications

Minimum:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (e.g., ADN).
- Current CA RN license
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience (ED) as a registered nurse.
- AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS
- TNCC required within 6 months of hire
- MICN required within 2 years of hire
- Current Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) or related healthcare field
- Completion of Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) or related field within 3 years of hire
