The Operations Director of Support Services will be responsible for managing people and processes to achieve metrics and drive continuous improvement of the revenue cycle support services with a focus in Acclara’s Patient First approach. A commitment to excellence is demonstrated through continuous staff development programs enhancing employee engagement, service, knowledge, skills, and morale.
Responsibilities for Operations Director, Support Services
Core responsibilities include but are not limited to the items listed below:
- Lead and develop the Managers and Supervisors in the support services areas
- Identifies and implements change necessary to improve processes and operational quality
- Ensures support services performance levels meet or exceed established service level, quality goals and cost goals; communicates performance results at appropriate intervals
- Solves escalated problems related to his/her areas of assignment and maintains a working knowledge of functions in these areas
- Establish a working relationship with the operation and client directors and act as a liaison to ensure their expectations are met and any requests for information are responded to in a timely manner
- Provides metrics and reports to monitor and track the status of support services operations
- Provide strong, dynamic leadership that mentors, develops, and guides team members to efficiently leverage the value of every account request for maximum net reservation revenue to clients,
- Deliver results against a defined scope of work that includes measurable ROI, strategic innovation, performance reporting, and human capital development,
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal and external quality assurance (QA) programs fostering continuous improvement and exceeding service level agreement (SLA) performance,
- Develop and maintain effective organization of responsibility, including efficient recruiting, training, coaching, recognition, workflow patterns, performance standards, delineation of duties and responsibilities, staffing levels and supervision,
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and standards.
- Effective leadership and analytical skills including working knowledge of revenue cycle analysis, staffing models, scheduling, and client engagement
- Exceptional ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive results
- Proven and measurable experience in managing and improvement of revenue cycle support services operation including but not limited to medical billing and insurance follow up
- Ability to mentor and build relationships to effectively manage group and interpersonal conflict situations
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills – including statistical report writing
- Computer skills: Microsoft outlook and word with advanced excel skills.
- Occasional travel to clients or trade show required
- Bachelor of arts or science degree in related field or higher preferred
- Minimum 5 years in a revenue cycle leadership role leading a large team
- Minimum 2 years in a revenue cycle director role
- Insurance billing procedures including but not limited to ICD9/10 and CPT codes, claims processing and medical terminology
