This position has direct accountability for leading the day-to-day manufacturing activities across all fabrication lines and shifts driving continuous improvement across key performance indicators including safety, on-time, and complete delivery, first-pass quality, and productivity improvement/cost reductions. Operations Manager job responsibilities include:

• Leads by example with respect to our Vision, Common Purpose, and Quality Standards: Safety, Integrity, Efficiency, and Creativity.
• Provides direct support and leadership to department managers to meet or beat production volume, cost, quality, scheduling, and delivery goals.
• Drives and implements safety programs with respect to behaviors, manufacturing processes, and process improvements across the facility to drive hazard awareness and injury prevention.
• Actively participate in company performance management, professional development, and succession planning within the area of responsibility.
• Recruits, retains and develop top talent within all manufacturing management and supervisory roles.
• Develop performance goals and objectives for direct staff that is aligned with organizational and facility goals.
• Helps to develop and maintain annual labor budget for facility.
• Administer continuous improvement activities that will continue to drive Lean Methodology and the implementation of such programs within the facility.
• Actively participate in quality and process improvement initiatives with the window fabrication teams.
• Oversee weekly production schedules to ensure production demand is being adjusted to stay within department outputs.
• Manage proactively to effectively communicate upcoming production issues to all affected team members and customers.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, or related field and 7-10 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing management role, or a sufficient combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Practical knowledge and experience utilizing world-class manufacturing techniques.
• Ability to understand financial and/or accounting acumen, e.g., budgeting, business analysis, etc.
• Basic understanding of operational and capital budgeting.
• Ability to manage using metrics daily to meet production schedules and continuous improvement activities.
• Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies.
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, regulations, codes, guidelines, and administrative best practices related to the Building Products industry.
• Strong personal integrity and a collaborative style; capable of building and sustaining productive, effective working relationships.
• Highly professional image and presence.
• Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
