Position: Operations Manager
Salary:$125,000-$175,000

The Operations Manager directs and coordinates the activities of our production and support (i.e. Maintenance) departments in processing materials or manufacturing products.

What You'll Do:

• Manage five (5)-to-ten (10) subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 50 to 100 employees in the Mold/Melt Department, Core Department, Casting Cleaning Department, Casting Finishing Department, Maintenance Department and Shipping Department
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units
• Interview, hire and train employees
• Plan, assign and direct work
• Reward and manage employee performance
• Address complaints and resolve issues
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
• Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products and schedule delivery dates in order to plan department operations
• Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products
• Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications
• Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum cost and prevent operational delays
• Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization
• Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards
• Responsible for ensuring that AS 9000, ISO 9001, QS 9000, safety and environmental protection programs and requirements are implemented and adhered to in your area
• Resolve worker grievances or submit unsettled grievances to Human Resource manager for action
• Compile, store, and retrieve production data
• Perform any and all other job-related tasks as assigned

What We Need from You:

• High School diploma or GED and Master's Degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or four (4) to ten (10) years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
• Respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community
• Write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
• Effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or board of directors
• Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; handle objects, tool or controls; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs; use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and adjust focus
