Overview: OPHTHALMOLOGY PRACTICE seeks a qualified full-time ophthalmic technician for multiple locations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Rooms patients
  • Works up patients
  • Performs pre-testing and diagnostic testing
  • Assists physicians with procedures
  • Maintains exam rooms including stocking and cleaning
  • Assists with maintaining and ordering medical supplies
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of anatomy of the eye, ocular conditions and ocular imaging equipment
  • Ability to transfer mobile patients to exam chair and occasionally move patients in a wheelchair
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent computer skills including use of standard office programs
  • Ability to perform tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to pleasantly and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment

Position Qualifications:

  • Work Experience: Minimum of one (1) year work experience as an ophthalmic technician at an eye care facility/practice (preferred)
  • Education: Graduate of an ophthalmic medical assistant/technician training program; active COA/COT certification (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $13.50/hour based on experience
