Job description
The Operating Room Tech (OR Tech) is responsible for assisting the surgical team before, during and after surgery by ensuring the proper care, use, and placement of surgical instruments, as well as assisting surgeons with instruments during surgery. This includes, but is not limited to, washing, sterilizing, and inspecting equipment for proper working conditions; counting sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operation; reporting breaks in technique and taking proper action; and cleaning operating rooms.

Requirements:We are searching for a candidate who:
- can work in a fast-paced surgery environment
- is able to communicate effectively with the ability to comprehend and interpret verbal orders and direction
- has the ability to make frequent judgments and respond to routine problems; and can respond to disasters or emergencies, whether drills or actual events
- will provide excellent customer service while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion
This position requires completion of surgical scrub technician course and two (2) years’ work experience in an operating room scrubbing neurological surgeries, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center. The candidate must also have experience with neurologic instrument care and processing, including biological and Bowie-Dick testing.
The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), various software programs, and internet applications. Focused concentration with attention to detail is required.
