As an Outside Sales Representative, you will manage a territory of current customers as well as build the customer base. You will work closely with these customers to build and maintain lasting relationships while increasing sales. You must be comfortable making sales calls (including cold calls), working with customers face to face, through emails and texts to generate interest and close sales. From customers to contractors, you will play a vital role in making sure they have all the correct materials needed to complete projects and offer multiple solutions when necessary.
Viking Industrial Center provides a company vehicle, computer, and cell phone to outside reps to ensure they have the tools needed to do the job. There is also a full benefit package including a 401k plan that we match at 15%.
Responsibilities
- Manage and GROW an established sales territory
- Receive and process requests from customers, enter sales orders, quotes, and handle order changes in a timely manner
- Manage the delivery details of orders to ensure the customer gets the product as soon as possible, including making deliveries when necessary
- Handle all computer tasks to complete the sales process from order entry to invoice
- Learn and sustain technical knowledge of our many products
- Perform other duties as assigned outside of job description
Skills
- Previous sales experience required
- Ability to learn our software, Epicor P21, and Microsoft Outlook, and become proficient
- Good knowledge of construction and industrial fastener and safety applications
- Be self-motivated with a strong desire to grow sales
- Strong in-person and phone presence with an outgoing personality
- Excellent verbal, listening, written and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, and manage time effectively
- You must speak, read, and write English

We currently have three convenient Minnesota locations; St. Paul, Forest Lake, and Duluth. Our stores service walk-in customers, job site sales and solutions in the Twin Cities metro area including greater northern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.
Our operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.07 per hour
