POSITION SUMMARY
Provide customer service by assisting in the packing, loading, and unpacking of customers' possessions in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
Reports To: Operations Manager
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 100 lbs.
- Time Management & Organizational Skills
- Produce the required tonnage per hour, dependent on job factors
- Friendly, safety-minded, positive attitude, good communication, and customer service skills
- Follow directions from Crew Leaders, Dispatchers, and Supervisors
- Technology savvy and adaptable to new programs and processes
- Ability to read, write, basic math skills to understand, and follow all written and verbal directions/documents
- Work independently and/or with a team, exercise good judgment and decision-making required
- Pass all Company Pre-Employment Checks

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Including but not limited to the following:
- Pack/wrap customers' goods safely and securely.
- Unload/unpack customer goods and place them per the customer's request.
- Communicate professionally with customers and co-workers.
- Lift frequently up to 100 pounds and ask for assistance in lifting items that are bulky or excessively heavy or appear to be beyond the employee's capability.
- Carry customer's goods on inclines, stairs, or long carries utilizing safe lifting techniques to/from the vehicle.
- Communicate with customers regarding placement of goods and unpacking where required.
- Ensure paperwork for each move is complete and returned to the appropriate member of staff.
- Clearly mark all contents and condition of each item or carton packed with the client's name, description of the item, name of room removed from, and packing date.
- Ability to use all moving equipment safely.
- Notify and communicate with the appropriate members of staff should any problems occur.
- Work in accordance with training received and relevant procedures.
- Ability to train and assist new employees.
- Ability to run the job with minimal supervision.
- Think outside of the box to achieve maximum results.
- Report all damages and/or injuries in a timely manner.
- Flexible work schedule.

- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Follow all rules in the Employee Handbook and Safety Handbook.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, crawl, sit, talk, move about, hear, and speak. They may be required to work in restricted spaces and/or under difficult lighting and access conditions. Noise levels may be high when operating power equipment. Employees may be exposed to outside weather conditions when transporting materials. The employee must be able to lift frequently up to 100 pounds and ask for assistance in lifting items that are bulky or excessively heavy or appear to be beyond the employee's capability. The employee is required to properly use such safety equipment as appropriate to the work to prevent injury to self or other.
