Overview:
Position Purpose:Mixes, matches, and applies paint to metal surfaces on aircraft parts. Also completes touch-ups and coordinates large painting projects.
This role will operate within the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
Shift: 3rd

Spirit Aerosystems, Inc. Dallas, TX location, is an FAA 145 Certified Repair Station that offers outstanding structural repair and overhaul of thrust reversers, flight controls, radomes/tailcones, nacelles, doors, panels and more.

Shift: 3rd
Compensation: $28-$32 based on experience
- Applies paint to surfaces on aircraft parts
- Mixes, matches, and applies paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes
- Scrapes, sands, primes, or seals surfaces prior to painting
- Cleans surfaces to ensure proper adherence
- Covers work surfaces and areas with cloth or plastic to ensure protection
- Calculates amounts of required materials and estimates costs
- Erects scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas. Moves equipment as necessary
- Masks portions of components that do not require paint such as bearings, bushings, rub strips, etc
- Applies primers and top coat finishes to a quality standard to meet manufacturer’s and customer requirements
- Properly uses scales and mixing equipment
Required:
3rd Shift Supervisor in Dalls, TX- Must have been a team lead/manager/supervisor. Must want to work 3rd shift.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications sketches, job orders, planning documents and engineering drawings to include general knowledge of repair station procedures and use of paperwork in relation to repair documentation
- Must be able to lift and transfer 40 pounds without difficulty
- Must be able to perform the following physical functions daily: stooping, kneeling, crawling, standing and bending for continuous periods of time
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions as well as read and implement instructions
- Have experience with proper use of hand tools
- Must have 3 years of Commercial Aircraft Painting experience
- Must be able to read, write and understand English
Preferred:
- 2 – 5 yrs. of Mixed paint, varnish, sand painting
- Preferred experience painting in aerospace
