ZLA Solutions has a client in St. Clair looking to onboard through direct hire a Paint Process Technician for their 1st shift.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Under general direction of Paint Engineers, provides technical support in Paint Department to achieve the highest production output possible.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:

• Provides technical support in Paint Department by monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving process issues. Reviews production reports and parts for process related problems. Coordinates efforts and implements proper processes and procedures to resolve problems.

• Participates in continuous improvement processes for Paint Department. Maintains, controls, and reduces process costs.

• Designs layouts and updates equipment to support of Paint Department. Processes paint equipment and manual sprayers for new colors used in production. Creates and documents new procedures to support new business.

• Solves mechanical problems and gives direction for proper repairs.

• Assigns tasks and trains other staff as needed. Participates in team meetings.

• Performs other duties as necessary in support of projects.

• Must be able to work independently under minimal work direction.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a high degree of comprehension and judgment for effective problem solving.

• Must have excellent visual skills to see and differentiate paint colors, paint film thickness, etc.

• Must have a good understanding of application equipment in relation to solvent blends, paint mixing, temperature, humidity, and other factors critical to the job.

• Demonstrated good interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills in order to communicate with internal and external contacts and work in a team environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Some of the physical demands of this position include sitting for prolonged periods of time, walking up and down staircases, occasional lifting, and occasional stooping and bending.

EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED:

Some of the equipment and tools used are computer, telephone, fax machine, copier/printer, and a projector.

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma plus minimum three years paint experience; or equivalent

WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum five years’ experience with paint and/or paint systems experience

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift

• Saint Clair, MI 48079: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
