Paralegal, Corporate and Legal Affairs for North America is a strategic member of the NA Legal Team supporting the day-to-day operation of the US and Canadian Legal Teams, including assistance in the management of BU and regional projects to effectively deliver services provided by the group. This role performs various paralegal, project and administrative support for the US and Canadian attorneys. Projects generally involve work of a confidential nature and require a thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of the function, company products, policies and programs. As a critical member of the team, this individual is responsible for identifying and implementing systems and process improvements.

Under the guidance of Mondelēz International’s legal leader or counsel, you deliver on our legal strategy, activities, and service delivery model in a legal specialist and generalist area of focus. You use your ability to work independently, your in-depth knowledge, and significant experience in a specialty area to apply legal knowledge in the practice area and propose legal solutions and alternatives to in-house counsel.

Primary responsibilities for the Paralegal include the following:

  • Provide paralegal support to the attorneys in the US and Canadian legal team as required across a broad range of practice areas including corporate, commercial, labor and employment, contracts and litigation.

  • Provide administrative support to the attorneys in the US and Canadian legal team as required, including calendar management, preparing ppt presentations, Document Management (LDMS) file system support, expense reports, travel bookings, logistical coordination with USLT and CALT Executive Administrators.

  • Manage internal and external meeting planning, including multiple stakeholders, preparation work needed, i.e., drafting agendas, logistics, coordination and minutes.

  • Maintaining the online Blueprint records for the Canadian legal entities. Preparing routine corporate documentation (eg. annual resolutions) and corporate filings (annual returns and registrations) for Canadian legal entities and manage and maintain corporate records.

  • Handling expenses, fee payments, POs and vendor set up.

  • Project management coordinator for BU, Region and Global projects as required.

  • Assistance with coordinating execution and administration of contracts and other documents, including working with HR to collect and review documents for employee file requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 2+ years of experience supporting legal teams

  • Excellent team player with exemplary interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work independently.

  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Superior analytical, oral and written communication skills.

  • Exemplary planning and organizational skills.

  • Technology and digital acumen

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

  • Ability to work confidently within a matrix organization and to work well under pressure.

  • Efficient, organized, confident, pro-active, attentive to detail, reliable, service-oriented, self-starting, with impeccable integrity and willingness to learn.
