Paramedic - Emergency Services - PRN- Rotating Shifts
Job description
Provides nursing care to an assigned clinical unit under the direction of the Charge Nurse and pursuant to the objectives and policies of Bravera Health Seven Rivers. Knowledge of physiological, psychosocial, and therapeutic components specific to the appropriate triage and prioritizing of patients with real or potential life threatening conditions presenting to the emergency department for care. Responsible for organized systematic reception and categorization of patients ensuring that immediate care is available for the seriously ill or injured patient. Determines priorities confidently and directs patient flow in a high paced environment, while maintaining composure and courtesy to patients and families. May be needed to work beyond the regular tour of duty or in another patient care unit as assigned by department head or nursing supervisor.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):
- Minimum Education: Graduation from an accredited Paramedic program
- Required Experience: Some experience as an EMT or Paramedic
- Required Licensure /Certification Prior to Hire: Current Florida Paramedic license; BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
- Requires PHTLS and/or ITLS certification
- Required Competency: Completion of Red Flag training within 90 days of hire and a Basic Arrhythmia competency within 12 months of hire.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge base requisite to the assessment, triage and assignment of appropriate priority of care for the emergency patient. Visual and hearing senses adequate to assess/detect changes in human physiological condition. Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language. Ability to perform effectively in fast paced, stressful environment
