The Developmental Specialist position provides for families that are eligible for Early Intervention (EI) services such as administering evaluations and assessments, scoring and interpreting their results, participating in weekly meetings, coaching and promoting positive interactions, and problem solving with families and others. Responsibilities
Provides specialized instruction and parental coaching for families who have children who are eligible for Early Intervention (EI) services. Administering developmental assessments while scoring and interpreting the results of all developmental evaluations and assessment in a manner that can be understood by parents, caregivers, and other professionals. Problem-solving with families and other professionals regarding a child’s development and facilitate better outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood, Social Work, Psychology or related field. Certified as a Developmental Specialist by the DODD or be eligible to acquire certification per DODD rule. Must hold and maintain a current, valid driver’s license. Prior experience with infants, babies, and toddlers with developmental disabilities preferred. Ability to act in a professional manner in homes and maintain accurate and up to date documentation/ case notes. Excellent communication skills, computer skills, and effective communication skills, both oral and written.
