Job Title: Dispensary Associate

Reports to: Dispensary Manager

Supervises: n/a

Oversees: Retail

Organization: Berkshire Welco

Core Duties:

The role of the Dispensary Associate is to be the primary customer-facing representative and implement retail procedures set by the Dispensary Manager. Dispensary Associates will also follow guidelines set by the Cannabis Control Commission. Duties include the following: cash management, auditing inventory, performing retail transactions, educating customers on product offerings, opening/closing procedures, data entry, and cleaning. The Dispensary Associate will embrace continued education as it relates to the cannabis industry and be a team player.

Principal Responsibilities:

The primary role of the Dispensary Associate is to follow the Dispensary Manager’s instructions regarding customer service and cash management. The Dispensary Associate’s duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Inspire excellent customer service, and confidence to create customer loyalty
• Develop deep knowledge and understanding of cannabis
• Accurate cash handling and discount application
• Verification of proper documentation and ID for customers
• Accurate use and maintenance of the Point Of Sale (POS) system
• Accurate and timely data entry of customer profiles in the POS system
• Assist customers with purchases
• Maintenance of an organized and clean store and workn area
• Knowledge and adherence to company policies, state regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Compassionate and strong work ethic
• Desire and ability to learn about products and their functions
• Strong attention to detail and must have a team-player mentality
• Ability to deal with and resolve problems in a professional manner
• Develops and maintains in-depth product knowledge

Essential Work Experience and Qualifications:

• Exceptional customer service skills; at least 1 year experience in retail strongly preferred
• Knowledge of basic computer skills, Point of Sale software, and cash management procedures is a must
• Knowledgeable about cannabis: genetics, laws, medicinal values, culture, and trends of the industry
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to accommodate scheduling expectations, including weekends
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be able to meet all shift requirements with regularity, predictability and consistency

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

Dispensary Associates must be able to stand for long periods of time with appropriate breaks. Dispensary Associates will also assist in moving product throughout the facility and must be able to lift 25 pounds.
