The Automotive Technology Department at Vermont Technical College invites applications for Spring 2023 (January 17, 2023 to May 08, 2023)

The course to be taught is ATT 2040 Automotive Drive Trains

This course covers the principles of construction, design, and operation of mechanical devices used in the modern automotive drive train. Topics include helical and planetary gear drive systems; torque converters; hydraulic control systems; principles of electronically controlled transmissions; clutches; manual transmission and transaxles; drive shafts and axles; universal and CV joints; differentials; transfer cases; and problem diagnosis and component failure analysis.

3 hours of lecture - 3 hours of lab per week

Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree with several years of relevant experience or a Master's degree. Teaching experience is preferred.

Salary:
Based on credits previously taught per VSC-VSCPTF Bargaining Unit Agreement.
