Part-Time Health Services Case Manager - University Health Services
University Health Services (UHS) seeks an experienced Case Manager to assist students in navigating the pathways to medical and psychological care while promoting equitable health. This position will serve as a clinical liaison with PSU students and UHS primary care to provide biopsychosocial evaluations, preliminary mental health assessments, and behavioral health care referrals.
This position will foster and strengthen relationships between Counseling and Psychological Services, Health Promotion and Wellness, various offices among student affairs and outside mental health providers. Communication and collaboration between local agencies will be vital to provide up to date information to UHS providers and students.
Duties Include:
Experience working with LGBTQA+ populations, diverse backgrounds, and specialty populations preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in medical and mental health consultation, including the ability to develop strong working relationships; work as a dynamic team member and interact effectively with both health care professionals and nonprofessionals regarding medical and mental health concerns are essential. Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in Social Work or related discipline or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional years of professional mental health experience, preferably within college mental health or community mental health working with young adults is strongly preferred.

Duties Include:
- Manage a clinical case load and provide needed follow-up regarding cases
- Complete assessments which may identify depression, anxiety, or other mental health concerns struggles with the student population.
- Make referrals to community therapists and psychiatrists when necessary and available.
- Complete referrals to higher levels of care and work with behavioral health treatment centers nationwide
- Assist students in obtaining prior records from medical or psychological treatment facilities
- Review medical and behavioral health records to determine appropriate levels of care
- Support patients with management of medical needs.
- Research and connect student to a variety of resources including applications, reading materials, coping mechanisms, and PSU resources.
- Support students in navigation of medical bills and healthcare costs
- Help students understand their insurance programs or apply for qualifying insurances.
- Provide case consultation for medical providers
- Coordinate services with the PSU Commonwealth campuses
- Provide education to students to encourage positive health choices
- Advocate for student needs to help students attain their full health potential
