The Tucson JCC is a community center for the entire community. It is a safe space with amenities for everyone. We offer an Early Childhood Education center, after-school care and camp, Special Needs day program, fitness center and pool, beautiful new tennis courts, and so much more! The J is more than a community center and job, it's a home away from home!

We offer JPlay Babysitting Service for youth ages 3 months to 10 years old. This childcare service is offered for parents and guardians to have a safe place for their children while they are on site using the facility. Babysitters will be responsible for no more than 6 children per staff member in the room at a time, with children 9 months and younger counting as 2 children. This position is a critical role who will provide direct service to the children in their care and help support our goal of excellent service and experience for every individual that comes in to our facility.

This position is a part of the Experience Team and reports directly to the JPlay Babysitting Supervisor.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Supervision of children in attendance ages 3 months to 10 years

Friendly and positive interactions with children, parents, and guardians

Build positive relationships with all members, guests, and staff

Implementation of daily activities

Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of program space

Attendance

Work in a team environment

Implement and follow through on all program policies and procedures

Attend staff meetings and trainings

Skills requested:

Knowledge, education and or experience working with youth (infant – school age)

Strong communication, written and oral, and drive for collaboration

Adaptable to rapid change during this COVID era

Must have a friendly and outgoing personality paired with being a team player and ability to multi-task

Strong communication and decision making skills required

Administrative skills a plus to include data entry, filing, and more

Additional duties, tasks, and hours as assigned based on individuals’ talents and interests

Must be able to lift and carry children up to 50lbs intermittently

Must be able to stand for up to several hours at a time depending on the activities scheduled for the day

Hourly Wage: $13.00/hr

Requires a flexible schedule to work evenings and weekend shifts, to cover vacation and sick call outs for other team members. We are seeking 1 individual in this service area. Additional positions available for additional hours based on skills, interest, and availability.

The shift we are hiring for:

Friday: 7am to 1pm

Saturday: 8am to12pm

Sunday: 8am to 2pm

Full program hours:

Monday & Wednesday: 7am to 12pm, 4pm to7:30pm

Tuesday & Thursday: 7am to 12pm, 4pm to 7pm

Friday: 7am to 1pm

Saturday: 8am to12pm

Sunday: 8am to 2pm

1 week of paid training to include shadowing co-workers to learn the multiple ways of accomplishing goals. Additional time for cross-training other departments in the Experience Team as available and/or requested.
