About Us


With an enrollment of an average of 2,000 students, Atlanta Metropolitan State College is a coeducational, non-residential four-year college that offers a broad range of 2-year and 4-year programs on its campus. Founded in 1974, Atlanta Metropolitan State College is a public institution that has a total enrollment of 1,844 (fall 2019), its setting is urban, and the campus size is 79 acres. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. Its in-state tuition and fees are $3,505; out-of-state tuition and fees are $10,131.

The Music Program gives students far more than skills, rules and basic elements of good music. In our courses, students gain the ability to think analytically and critically. That's important today, when employers seek candidates who can problem solve in an ever-changing world.

Atlanta Metropolitan State College is seeking part-time instructors in Music who will play a key role in educating and supporting students, teaching classes for Dual Enrollment students in metro-Atlanta high schools, and manage online courses for instructors experienced in online teaching.

Required Qualifications


  • A minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) in the teaching discipline
  • Ability to teach MUSIC courses on the collegiate level
  • Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods
  • Ability to relate to a diverse student population and facilitate student learning
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology
  • A Criminal History Check is Required

Proposed Salary


Salary: $2,100.00 for each 3 Semester Credit Hour course taught
