Part Time Truck Parking Lot Attendant
Job description
This is a Part Time Position for 2nd shift on Mondays & Thursdays from 1:30pm-10:30pm (Potential to increase hours if available from 10pm-6am on various days between Wednesday through Sunday.)
We are seeking a reliable and responsible Truck Parking Lot Attendant (Guard Shack Attendant) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and controlling access to our truck parking lot, collecting and scanning parking lot tickets from customers exiting the truck parking lot, ensuring the safety and security of our visitors and premises, as well as providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors are granted entry/exit to the truck parking area
- Verify and scan parking entrance tickets of all persons seeking to exit to the truck parking area
- Initiating and completing parking fee transactions as well as issuing receipts to drivers accordingly
- Monitoring the parking lot for any safety hazards, potential security breaches or security issues (such as theft or vandalism) or suspicious activity
- Maintain accurate records of all truck parking tickets collected from visitors and vehicles entering and exiting the facility, parking fees, and shift paperwork
- Monitoring truck lot for cleanliness and suggesting when it be necessary to sweep, pick up litter, and remove snow or ice
- Provide assistance to drivers who may need help with parking rules regarding dropped trailers, bobtail parking, and navigating the truck lot
- Communicating with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary
- Respond to emergency situations such as fire alarms, medical emergencies, or security breaches
- Report any security breaches, safety hazards, or suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel
- Maintain a clean and organized guard shack, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in good working order
- Ensure all equipment such as Point of Sale (POS) or parking gate arms are functioning properly.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all employees and visitors, answering phone calls and answering any questions, concerns or complaints brought to your attention
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager
Qualifications:
Minimum of one year of experience in a security-related position and/or cashiering
- Strong customer service skills and ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment - Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment - Basic computer skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, and bend as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to sit or stand, in particular, for extended periods of time as this is a seated position for the most part
