Summary of Position
This position primarily scans vehicles within the port facility and yard. This is a general overview of the requirements for this position, not an all-inclusive list of activities.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Tasks
- Ensures the vehicles that are discharged from a vessel are entered into inventory system.
- Set up scanner mobile device to receive VIN numbers.
- Accountable for scanning the VIN numbers with the mobile device as they are discharged from the vessel at the first point of rest.
- Complete walk around quality inspection per FCA guidelines
- Enter the transportation damage found on the qc survey, into mobile scanner device.
- Complete interior inspection
- Receive work orders and labels from supervisor/manager.
- Proceed to the correct location in the yard to install labels and owner's manuals.
- Prepare scanner for consolidation or re-handling move, by accessing the VIN Detail screen.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret vehicle identification numbers.
- Ability to adhere to strict quality standards without variance.
- Ability to drive in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to pass with 80% accuracy the AWC Safe Driving quiz.
- Excellent vision and attention to detail
- Ability to keep confidential any work documents seen, or conversations heard during performance of job duties.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Education, Experience, and Minimum Requirements
- Valid state driver's license
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Able to drive a manual speed transmission.
