The Patient Intervention Clinician communicates with new and existing non-invasive ventilator customers for the purposes of offering support. This entails checking on overall well-being of patient and their use of their ventilator, answering questions patients may have regarding equipment, resolving problems, determining ongoing and additional product/service needs, supporting compliance of patient to prescribed therapies, collecting outcomes data, and communicating information back to patient's local service center.
- Communicates with new and existing customers via inbound and outbound manual calls generated via automated dialer system
- Assesses customer compliance with physician orders
- Answers questions and provides customer education regarding non-invasive ventilator
- Assesses customer need for additional products/services when applicable
- Documents calls in computerized record keeping system
- Relays information collected back to patient's local center and documents this correspondence in a computerized record keeping system
- Verifies and updates demographic information such as address and telephone number in computerized records
- Meets specific performance objectives related to number of outbound calls made, patients contacted, time on call, time entering information in computerized system, relaying information back to the patient's local service center, etc.
- Collection of outcomes data on existing patients such as recent hospitalization history, satisfaction with local service center, and overall perceived effectiveness of non-invasive ventilator
- Must have excellent human relations skills to interface with patients, doctors, and employees to provide advice and direction
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Compute rate, ratio, and percent, as well as to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be clinician authorized within his/her scope of practice
