JOB CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
RATE OF PAY: Grade 3, starting at $13.89 hr,
NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK: 40
LOCATION: CVCA Main Office
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Payroll/Benefits Clerk performs a variety of financial tasks, including managing and updating records, processing invoices, preparing and processing payroll, and interacting with employees to resolve any problems. This individual will assist with the administration of all benefits including medical, dental, life, pension, and other ancillary benefits. The Payroll/Benefits Clerk implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. Will be cross trained to perform Accounts Payable duties.
EDUCATION and QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Admin, or related field required.
A minimum of three years of payroll processing experience required. Fund accounting experience preferred.
Proficient with payroll software. GMS accounting experience a plus.
One year experience in benefits administration preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good computer skills, with proficiency in Word and Excel.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must get TB screening or PPD, Physical, CPS, DMV, Criminal Record check; Must be proficient in English. Must submit to pre-employment, random, and post-accident drug/alcohol screening.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift 15 lbs. This position may require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
