Position Summary: Are you looking for a fast-paced Payroll position with a variety of job duties? There is always room here to grow and learn new things! We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our HR Department. This position will support a growing number of employees in our 240+ Dairy Queen locations across 13 states. The Payroll Specialist performs a wide variety of record keeping and payroll processing activities.
Essential Functions:
- Computing wages and overtime hours
- Calculating manual/ACH/Wallet Card payments
- Setting up state and local taxes
- Knowledge of lived in worked in state laws
- Tax Fall Outs
- W2 and Year End Processing
- Researching issues and assisting employees and managers with questions
- Responding to emails and voicemails quickly
- Processing child support and garnishment orders
- Completing employment and wage verifications
- Processing terminations and final payments
- Reviewing payroll for accuracy
- Running reports and auditing employee information
- Assisting with employee benefit set-up, approvals, and open enrollment
- Other projects as assigned
- 2+ years of high-volume payroll processing experience required
- HRIS knowledge required, Dayforce / Ceridian preferred
- Exceptional problem analysis and problem solving skills are required
- Knowledge of taxes, taxable vs non-taxable income, etc., is required
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be able to adhere to an expectation of high levels of confidentiality

- Ability to take direction, ask questions, and work independently
- Must successfully pass a background check
