The PDC Lab Technician’s duties include machine and tooling set-up, small volume assembly work, validation testing, documentation, process troubleshooting, and performing development testing. Direct customer interaction at Extol occurs regularly.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Work with Applications Engineers to execute test plans, tooling installation and processing, and small volume assembly work
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the plastic joining processes provided by Extol.
- Apply working knowledge and understanding of process applications and limitations to utilize in hands-on situations.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all process testing techniques that are used by Extol.
- Conduct process development experiments to determine process limits and new process possibilities.
- Create and maintain application lab records including all processing and testing reports, photos, and other relevant documents.
- Support Operations by sharing prototype/pre-production run findings that may impact the design or processing of production equipment.
- Regularly collaborate with the Applications team, other internal Extol teams, and customers to devise solutions to a variety of customer challenges.
- Adhere to all leadership expectations as outlined in regular communication, policies, and processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly document technical information, clarify unclear issues, convey information to customers and salespeople, and maintain detail accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively on a team.
- Must be self-motivated and have ability to act independently to resolve issues and technical matters
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Associates degree in Engineering Technology or related experience.
- Basic understanding of manual and automated assembly equipment
- Basic understanding of plastic joining methods and plastic part design and composition
Hours Required: Full-Time, 48 Hours/Week (Average) NonExempt (Hourly)
Regular Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (from time to time, work may require non-typical work hours to accommodate project deadlines and irregular workflow).
Environment
General manufacturing environment, daily exposure to machinery and potential non-hazardous chemicals and lubricants.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
