Lake Elsinore Pediatrics provides primary care from newborn infants to adolescents up to age 18. Dr. Jimmy Phan and our staff of skilled pediatric professionals are friendly and helpful. Medical Assistant with more than two years of Pediatric experience in workplace, must be comfortable with both back and front office work (a cross trained professional). Pediatric experience must include the administration of vaccines in children ages 2 months to 18 years old, performance of CLIA waived office testing, such as rapid strep testing and capillary blood sampling. Personable with both parents and children. Must have phone skills that require patience and tolerance. Self-starter who doesn’t hesitate to support their team. Work schedule includes Monday through Friday and Saturdays as needed. Higher wage is offered based upon demonstration of your experience in the Pediatric field.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Routine intake including interviewing patients, obtaining vital signs, administers and accurately records vaccinations and other pertinent information as required by the clinic. Records information in patient’s medical record. Prepares treatment rooms and patients for exams. Assists provider with care of the patient. Inventories, and potentially orders and replenishes medical supplies and materials. Gives treatments and performs routine laboratory tests as required by the clinic.
- Schedules appointments, performs clinical tasks and completes appropriate forms as required. May be responsible for administering medications, including injections. Responsible for cleaning, processing, sterilizing, and checking instruments. Performs accurate and timely computer data entry functions. Performs clinical/technical skills specific to the clinic. Performs other related duties as necessary.
- Customer Service: Practices exceptional customer service standards as defined by the clinic.
- Anticipates the patients' and doctors' needs, takes proactive steps to meet those needs, by listening and taking responsibility within scope to ensure issues are resolved. Promptly responds to patient and doctor requests. Assures a clean, orderly, and functional work environment.
- Must be an effective team member who is flexible, cooperative, and willing to assist others. This is a small team and we all jump in and help each other.
- Manages difficult or conflict situations positively and constructively and seeks appropriate assistance. Takes accountability for own actions. Adheres to Attendance Policy. Supports a collaborative labor-management partnership environment.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a medical assistant, preference in pediatrics.
- Must have back office experience.
Education
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Completion of a course of study consistent with the requirements for Medical Assistants as specified by the Medical Board of California.
License, Certification, Registration
- Basic Life Support
Additional Requirements:
- Medical Terminology Certificate or equivalent experience.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical information.
- Excellent communicator and extremely organized.
- Ability to effectively present information, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to use personal computer.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
