Peer Mentor Specialist - Youth & Family Services
Job description
This position reports directly to the Mentoring Programs Supervisor. The position is responsible for providing the implementation of a newly created Peer Mentoring Program. This position will also assist in the facilitation of trusted adult trainings in the community to promote youth health and wellbeing. The Peer Mentoring Specialist will work directly with The Health Promotion Specialist, and the Communities that Care Coalition. All are co-located in the Youth and Family Department. Program Development, Community collaboration, youth development knowledge, vision, and planning are important skills
Qualifications
Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience working with youth, program development and coordination experience, ability to work independently and with a team and to collaborate with community agencies and schools. Bachelor’s degree in related field (Education, Social work, Psychology, Recreation, etc.) Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
