As an OptumRx Pharmacist, Home Delivery in Front End Operations, you will be expected to perform various duties related to the verification of prescription orders. You’ll have a direct impact on the lives of our members as you consult with physicians regarding medications and overall wellness. What makes your pharmacy career greater with OptumRx? ***Must have the flexibility to work an assigned shift, Sunday-Thursday, between the hours of 7:30AM - 6:00PM local time***
If you are located in Arizona, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Verifies prescriptions
- Takes new prescriptions and evaluates patient histories
- Interprets physicians' prescriptions and creates orders, accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from the computer system and verifies whether the order is reimbursable
- Consults with customers, patients and / or physicians regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions
- Conducts Quality Assurance and verifies the accuracy of all prescriptions
- Handles drug utilization review calls
- Analyzes and investigates concerns
- Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise

Required Qualifications:
- BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D degree
- Pharmacist license in good standing in Arizona
- 1+ years of experience as a Pharmacist in Retail Pharmacy, a hospital, or managed care setting
- Ability to navigate MS Office and a Windows based environment and the ability to create, edit, save, and send documents utilizing Microsoft Word. Ability to navigate Outlook and conduct Internet searches
- Ability to work in the designated shift and maintain flexibility to complete mandatory and voluntary overtime hours
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Pharmacist in a retail pharmacy, a hospital, or managed care setting
- Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements.
