Summary

Provide in-depth knowledge and support for the supply chain, medication management systems, medication-use policy, technology, and billing to deliver and support patient care to support pharmacy services.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Establish strategic planning for the Retail Pharmacy Services;
• Identify the appropriate workforce efforts; number, type, qualification of staff required to meet patient care needs and satisfy regulatory requirements;
• Design, manage, and ensure workflows to uphold efficiency and timeliness to care;
• Establish quality assurance and performance improvement activities
• Perform data collection and uses appropriate reporting tools
• Identify concerns and opportunities and makes recommendations for change, when needed;
• Oversee appropriate use of information systems and technology; support systems, automation/barcoding for safety;
• Oversee the pharmacy inventory; controlling pharmaceutical expenses and maximize revenue; collaborate to develop initiatives that optimize therapeutic outcomes, reduce drug-related problems and ensure cost-effective pharmacotherapy;
• Ensure appropriate audits for controlled substances and 340b adherence;
• Oversee the financial operations and ensures appropriate contracting; understand the relationships between third-party requirements, coding, documentation, billing equations, pricing updates, and assure quality functions for financial performance success;
• Create and implement educational activities to validate knowledge and competency of staff;
• Develop and utilize educational programs to enhance patient engagement and improve patient outcomes; foster pharmacist communication with patients and providers to ensure continuity of care and monitors patient outcomes;
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements;
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy;
• Active Texas Board of Pharmacy License;
• 5-10 years of Pharmacy experience with demonstrated success OR
• Completed ASHP PGY1/2 Clinical Residency and/or Administrative Hospital Pharmacy Residency;
• Working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and State/Federal laws governing medical services;
• Administrative, management, or supervisory experience;
• Exceptional leadership, mediation abilities, and multi-tasking skills required;
• Strong commitment to customer service and excellence in healthcare;
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
• Basic knowledge of statistics and graphical representation principles;
• Computer literate in electronic mail, word processing, and office management system software;
• Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
