Job description
Greet guests, take and fill food and beverage orders, take payment, clear tables, re-stock, side work, keep areas clean and up to health code, keep inside/outside areas safe for guests and staff, provide outstanding guest service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate rotation of food items to ensure freshness and reduce waste.
- Maintain a safe, clean and sanitary work environment by the following but not limited to; wash dishes, wipe down tables/counters, wash floors, fill napkin dispensers, wash windows, clean in, around and under food apparatus, clean refrigerator, clean dishwashing area, general cleaning inside and out of Silcox.
- Perform housekeeping duties in bunk and restroom areas as required
- Perform utility duties in outside areas, picnic tables, shoveling, signs, mazes and general litter control as necessary.
- Know location of and be familiar with applicable SDS information.
- Know the location of equipment manuals and procedures for operation of all equipment including but not limited to stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, coffee machine and hot chocolate machine.
- Assist Phlox Point Cabin Supervisor and Manager as needed.
- Deal with guests in a friendly, professional and courteous manner.
- Make sure ski area safety nets are put up at all times around building, keeping all areas safe.
- Ensure recyclable materials from your area of business are taken to correct location and placed in appropriate containers.
- Exercise sound judgment and awareness regarding language, behavior, and dress and grooming.
- Be familiar with Timberline Lodge and Ski Area information and communication network.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be service oriented.
- Must be detail oriented with ability to set and meet high customer service standards.
- Must use proper etiquette while conversing with guests.
Must be a Timberline approved driver.
- Must have detailed knowledge of Timberline.
- Must have excellent time management skills.
- Must have strong computer skills including but not limited to word documents, scheduling and data base programs.
- Must have a valid OLCC and Oregon Food Handlers permit.
Must be able to ski or snowboard.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be flexible and capable of bending, twisting and kneeling.
- Must be able to work in tight space with balance and poise.
- Must be able to work on feet, stand and walk for up to 8 hours at a time.
- Must be able to keep up with the pace of the department demands of the position.
- Must be able to work for extend periods of time.
- Must be able to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
- Must be able to shovel snow in all conditions.
