Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, plumbing systems, and fixtures in commercial and residential structures
• Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies
• Perform routine inspections of plumbing systems
• Prepare invoices and estimates
• Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed and materials used
• Ensure repairs and installations are manufacturer specs and local codes
• Ensure 100% customer satisfaction at the completion of each job
• Communicate with customers and coworkers clearly and respectfully
• Inform customers about the products and services we offer

Job requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Working knowledge of the City of Chicago and the State of Illinois Plumbing Code.
• Possession of current city or state journeyman (or apprentice) plumbing license.
• Proper OSHA training, including OSHA 10, first aid, AED and other related safety training.
• Training as a certified renovator for work in homes that may contain lead, a plus.
• All applicants are subject to a thorough background check (zero tolerance for the criminal record), Department of Motor Vehicle record check (follow-up checks every 6 months post hire), and an initial hair follicle drug test (random Screen Safe tests thereafter, per Drug Alliance Program). “Illinois Legal substances such as Alcohol and Marijuana do not affect consideration”
• Location of the primary residence must be within the call area, generally within fifteen miles of the shop.
• Must have residential service plumbing experience.
• A neat and clean appearance.
• A clear verbal communicator, able to speak in a manner that conveys a clear understanding of each situation to a homeowner.
• Must be able to write clearly and print legibly, as all service documentation is the responsibility of the technician. The majority of a service person's day is in communication with homeowners (verbal and written).
