As an important part of that mission, we are helping business and IT users of the GEICO Data Hub (GDH) to make the best use of Snowflake, Power BI, Dbt and related technologies. The DSI Business Intelligence team enables and maximizes GEICO's ability to rely on high quality, accurate data and reports to empower outstanding business decisions. We need a highly motivated team player to help bring those capabilities to everyone that works with GDH.

In addition to helping the GDH community you will be generating report-ready data and producing reports. You will also assist with GEICO’s transition from older reporting technologies such as SSIS and MicroStrategy as we transition to the use of Snowflake and Power BI.

Qualified candidates should be customer-oriented, have substantial professional experience with SQL and as a ETL/BI developer, and possess excellent communication skills.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 4+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, Data Marts, Dimensional Modeling
  • 4+ years of experience with report design, development, and performance optimization using Power BI
  • 2+ years of experience with any ETL/ELT tool such as Ab Initio, Talend, and SSIS
  • 4+ years of experience with SQL
  • Demonstrated experience in serving a customer community that prospers from your assistance

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE/SKILLS DESIRED:

  • Understanding of how educational opportunities, best practices and processes can be organized and communicated to maximize understanding and ease of use
  • Knowledge of how non-Power BI GEICO reports (build with MicroStrategy, Qlik Sense, or Microsoft SSRS) are developed and used
  • Familiarity with dbt
  • Familiarity with Agile development
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiences
  • Passion to innovate and provide high quality visualizations and reporting to enhance GEICO’s success

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, test, implement and maintain new dashboards, data visualizations, and automated reports for a variety of sources including Sales, Service, Claims, Mobile and Multiline metrics
  • Mentor and train business users on data visualization tools and techniques
  • Assist business and IT users of GDH with the technologies used for reporting and analysis
  • Create and execute test plans. Document assumptions, methodologies and validation techniques.
  • Evaluate user reports for certification potential
  • Participate in 24x7 on call support for key processes and reports

Annual Salary

$76,000.00 - $157,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
