School Cook Role:
The School Cook works closely with the Director and Assistant Director to ensure that the school provides quality meals for Childrens Lighthouse of Mansfield students in accordance with our school's standard. The school cook must also be willing to drive our small school bus to pick up and drop off kids at their respective elementary schools nearby.
Education, Experience, Requirements:
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
- TB Test or willingness to obtain.
- Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Transportation training or willingness to obtain.
- Kitchen Management experience preferred.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws as well as Childrens Lighthouse policies and procedures
- Drive students to and from school pickups.
- Assist Kitchen Manager in preparing, serving, and tracking meals and allergies for students.
- Constantly and consistently practices exemplary customer service.
- Completes and checks bus runs as assigned and necessary.
- Creating and keeping an inventory of food and kitchen supplies; In charge of ordering new materials as needed
- Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, community contacts, and state licensing authorities.
- Assist in keeping school physically well kept, attractive, and safe.
- Completes additional miscellaneous duties as assigned
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Good communication and social skills
- Analyze and solve problem; including the ability to maintain composure under stress
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability and willingness to perform all of the essential functions for each position in the school including food service, and driving the bus.
