Procedure Title: Procurement Manager

Reports to: President

SUMMARY:

The Procurement Manager is responsible for purchasing managing food ingredient, packaging, raw materials, and other supplies to support meeting business requirements. The emphasis for this role is on strategy, supplier development, business relationships, cost, negotiations and assurance of supply and quality. The Procurement Manager will increase company profitability and customer satisfaction by purchasing materials in a timely manner and at the lowest cost. The Procurement Manager will coordinate vendor activity and negotiations, and analyze trends in vendor pricing and sales activity to determine the correct timing of purchases. The Purchasing Manager will insure the highest quality of material. Purchasing Manager will assume full responsibility for planning, developing, and buying materials and supplies for a large food manufacturer

Job Responsibilities:

1. Manage all purchasing agents that purchase all products, packaging, materials or services for the company

2. Responsible for continuous improvement to Quality and Food Safety

3. Responsible for managing Good Manufacturing Practices throughout department

4. Maintain and uphold raw material product specifications

5. Member of HACCP team

6. Ensure Quality and Food Safety training for team members

7. Assist in product trace back and recalls

8. Ensure production floor lines are supplied with product at all times

9. Responsible for establishing and maintaining an adequate inventory on all products purchased

10. Responsible for reducing safety stock inventory

11. Responsible for lowering cost per pound and/or case for incoming products

12. Reduce waste

13. Work with vendors to improve and maintain relationships

14. Ensure new suppliers adhere to 2018 supplier approval handbook guidelines and are an established supplier referenced on the TF Primus website, with support from QA/QC

15. Enforce all loads arrive with either a letter of guarantee and/or COA

16. Work necessary hours per week to complete job function

17. Manages, oversees and implements programs affecting and concerning social and environment policies.

18. Ensure paperwork is processed correctly and efficiently

19. Responsible for reporting and reaching goals set forth by KPI’s

20. Purchasing Agent will assume role responsibilities in case of absence

21. Follow and enforce all GMP and PPE procedures per Taylor Farms requirements

22. Follow and enforce all safety rules and regulations per Taylor Farms requirements

23. Follow and enforce any and all additional duties or responsibilities assigned by President

Employment Requirements:

· English and/or Spanish, oral and written, communication skills are required

· Must pass pre-employment drug screen

· Computer and typing skills are required

Work Experience Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree or experience equivalent required

· Minimum 4 years of experience in a management position required

· Previous foodservice & manufacturing experience preferred

· Previous experience in purchasing perishable goods

· Knowledge of purchasing categories: perishables, packaging, meat & poultry

· Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required

· Self-motivation and initiative to follow through on daily assignments

· Excellent communication skills and detail oriented
