Overview:
Penguin Computing is looking for a self-driven, highly-motivated Product Engineer who can work as a bridge between customers and engineering teams. At Penguin, the Product Engineer will use customer input and sales information to design, develop, test and implement next-generation products and technology, programs, and applications. The Product Engineer will also provide technical support and expertise to customers, validation, work with customer installations, and perform demonstrations or present technology solutions. In general, this individual will work to collaborate and coordinate efforts to meet project requirements from concept to delivery, and follow up efforts to drive business and roadmap initiatives.
In addition to working closely with cross-functional teams, the Product Engineer will drive initiatives for business goals, contribute to delivery and deployment, and support the cohesive portfolio of technologies offered by Penguin Computing.

Penguin Computing, a subsidiary of SMART Global Holdings (SGH), specializes in innovative Linux infrastructure, including Open Compute Project (OCP) and EIA-based high-performance computing (HPC) on-premise and in the cloud, AI, software-defined storage (SDS), and networking technologies, coupled with professional and managed services including sys-admin-as-a-service, storage-as-a-service, and hosting, as well as highly rated customer support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop technology-driven solutions and improve existing architectures
- Provide support to clients
- Provide upgrades as needed
- Understand client-base and make recommendations
- Documentation and inventory of designs, applications, and products
- Develop design specification and schedule
- Obtain and operate support tools
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement required functions and features
- Test and debug applications within team and jointly with clients
Important Skills:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, or Bachelor degree in Business Administration and Management with experience in technical industry.
- 3+ years experience in product management, technical project or program management, related work experiences.
- Proven track record of delivery of products and/or projects.
- Experience in working with or leading teams across technology, product, supply chain, and manufacturing development.
- Experience working with accelerators from NVIDIA, AMD, Intel and others
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Linux OS or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills and fluent in technical and business work.
- Strong sense of initiative and ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering or product design in computer server or workstation industry
- Business or customer-facing experience on projects
- Experience with industry toolkits such as CUDA or equivalent
- Previous work on libraries and applications such as nccl and MPI
- Previous work with network and communication technologies such as Ethernet, InfiniBand, Omni-Path or equivalent
