Zeco, a member company of the Vincit Group, is seeking an experienced Chemical Compounder. The Vincit Group is a single source provider with a network of eight member companies that deliver maximum efficiency through the vertical integration of chemical services, contract sanitation management, as well as automation and engineering solutions. JOB SUMMARY: Compounders operate machinery that mixes and blends raw materials to produce chemical compounds. They must follow standard instructions to measure or weigh dyes, chemicals, and other substances into the machinery. Read plant specifications to determine products, ingredients, or prescribed modifications of plant procedures.
EDUCATION:
Required: Non-degreed candidates must have equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Preferred: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 1-2 years of experience working in chemical production environment or equivalent experience.
Preferred: 3-5 years of compounding experience in a chemical production environment.
POSITION REQUIREMENT(S): Specialized Skills/License/Certification
Required: A compounder must have basic mathematics skills as well as a solid understanding of the metric system. Must be able to understand manufacturing instructions and formulas. Must be able to lift heavy drums and bags as well as be prepared to wear a full-body suit for protection from chemicals. A compounder must be able to pay strict attention to detail since the job requires monitoring equipment, controlling temperatures, and checking for overall consistency in mixes.
Preferred: Ability to relocate if necessary. Previous experience in shipping/logistics.
CORE COMPETENCIES (Essential Job Functions)
1. Follow standard mixing procedures for production of chemical compounds.
2. Measure, weigh, and mix chemical ingredients, according to specifications.
3. Adjust controls to regulate temperature, pressure, feed, or flow of liquids or gases and times of prescribed reactions, according to knowledge of equipment and processes.
4. Must check for consistency in various batches.
5. Take samples of the compound and turn them over to a laboratory for testing.
6. Follow sanitation and safety guidelines thoroughly when cleaning machinery.
7. Complete necessary documentation regarding the compounded batches. Record operational data, such as temperatures, pressures, ingredients used, processing times, or test results.
8. Inspect equipment or units to detect leaks or malfunctions, shutting equipment down if necessary.
9. Monitor gauges, recording instruments, flowmeters, or products to ensure that specified conditions are maintained.
10. Drain equipment and pump water or other solutions through to flush and clean tanks or equipment.
11. Maintains processing environment by observing safety precautions, following safety, health, and environmental standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations; responding to crises.
12. Completes special projects upon requests, and other duties may be assigned.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
