Job Purpose:
Production Engineer are responsible for improving productivity and profit at plant and drive quality improvement through root cause analysis, ensure products are manufactured in compliance with customer specifications, safety standards and design specifications.
Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):
- Develop and evaluate yearly business plans (manning, capacity, cycle time) for the suspension manufacturing area
- Assist with the quote process for new customer suspension projects
- Draft and maintain and update PFMEA, Work Standards, Control Plans, Model Specifications Machine set up instructions, model changeover instructions
- Develop and review work procedures for all process related functions, i.e. operators, set-up, material handling, and maintenance.
- Developing Error Proof and FMEA
- Arrange with the involvement of Project Engineering sourcing of replacement production tooling, testing equipment, check fixture when required, and follow-up with same.
- Launch new customer strut and shock damping system programs & machines
- Responsible for process improvements and daily manufacturing engineering support for the plant Suspension Strut & Shock Assembly Systems
- Provide technical support for maintenance and production
- Assure adherence to the TS-16949 plant and company procedures
- Initiate continuous improvement activities for cycle time reduction, direct labor reduction for production lines assigned.
- Ensure that all processing methods and equipment meet all heath and safety requirements.
- Develop and prepare capital Continuous Improvement Projects for the assembly & test area
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering
Technical Competencies:
· Tooling/fixture design
· Organizational and leadership skills
· Ability and desire to provide daily "hands-on" floor support
· Problem solving
· Computer skills, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software & Mini-Tab
· Strong interpersonal skills and excellent time management skills with a sense of urgency

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $56,960.00 - $81,880.00 per year
